Job Description
The role of a Senior Direct Support Professional (SDSP) is a full-time position designed to help individuals with developmental disabilities, mental health conditions, traumatic brain injuries, or chronic illnesses increase their independence. An SDSP works one-on-one with clients, onboards new clients to assigned staff, trains new staff with assistance from the Field Coordinator and helps transition clients between DSP assignments.
An SDSP will work a flexible schedule, based on the SDSPs predetermined availability, to ensure clients receive appropriate care every week. An SDSP will work a consistent weekly schedule with shadow sessions worked in. SDSPs will also focus heavily on the development and onboarding of new Ehrnriter Companion and Community Group staff. An SDSP will be working with their Field Coordinator to ensure successful shadows are run with new staff, and that they will be successfully integrated into the field. The SDSP will provide feedback to the Field Coordinator on how shadows went, if they believe the staff will be successful, and on how the client staff pairing will go.
