Onboarding Specialist

Job Description

The role of an Onboarding Specialist is a full-time position designed to create and foster relationships between Ehrnriter Cares and new clients. The Onboarding Specialist works alongside the Field Coordinator and Agency Outreach Coordinator to execute the onboarding process with new clients. The Onboarding Specialist works one on one with clients, onboards new clients to assigned staff, trains new staff with assistance from the AO Coordinator and Field Coordinators, and helps transition clients between DSP assignments.

 

The OS will work a fulltime schedule, based on the OS’ predetermined availability, to ensure clients are receiving appropriate care every week; clientele will change regularly based on client needs and the demands of the business.

 

As the OS, the focus of the position is to introduce clients to our services, establish how clients will utilize services, and aid in the transition to the clients assigned staff. The rapport that you build with our clients will assist them in building the skills and confidence needed to live independently in their community and achieve their goals. In addition to the client relationships an OS builds, there will also be a focus on the development and onboarding of new Ehrnriter Cares staff. 

 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The Onboarding Specialist’s responsibilities include but may not be limited to:

  • Meet with clients regularly as scheduled in their homes in addition to providing remote supports
  • Onboard new clients and execute transition plans for assignment of field staff
  • Support clients through creative, thoughtful, problem-solving 
  • Understand and work to follow through with support plan goals  
  • Assist clients in planning and structuring time together  
  • Timely completion of documentation of activities and progress as directed by supervisor  
  • Clear and professional communication with clients, supervisors, and members of the support team  
  • Transporting clients as needed throughout the community for appointments and activities
  • Be a model for new staff during shadow and handoff sessions by leading client sessions with new staff present and exemplifying our person-centered approach to client engagement.
 
 

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent   
  • 2+ years of customer service experience 
  • Minimum of 6 months experience in the direct services field
  • Minimum availability of 35 hours per week
  • Valid driver’s license and insured vehicle that is well maintained  
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check  
  • Ability to pass and maintain required training for DHS compliance such as CPR/First aid and HIPAA
 
 

Essential Functions

  • Occasionally move up to 20lbs for various client needs.
  • Ability to remain in a stationary position for up to 75% of the session
  • Frequently move within and about the clients’ residence and/or community, including ascending/descending stairs or ladders.
  • Have and maintain a valid driver’s license
  • Frequently, and throughout the session, verbally communicate with clients
  • Ability to view clients in-person throughout sessions
